Francisco Huichaqueo is a Mapuche visual artist from Chile. 

Francisco Huichaqueo (1977, Valdivia, Chile) has a degree in Painting from the University of Chile with highest distinction, and has also studied Documentary Film at the Film School of Chile. He works as an academic in Experimental Video, Digital Animation and Drawing and Color at the University of Chile and at the Arcos Institute. He has curated three exhibitions of video art, animation and experimental film, Videos de Plástico, Instancias del Arte en Video and Lenguamadre presented at the Museo de Artes Visuales in 2007, 2008 and 2009 respectively. Additionally, he has participated as a jury member in the XI Festival de Vídeo del Bosque and in the Festival de Cine de Concepción. His work has been the subject of analysis in several instances including the 5th International Animation Festival FLIP 2009 in Valparaiso and Hora 25 of TVN and Via X. He also receives frequent invitations to speak about the process of his work in European cultural centers and exhibition spaces in the context of the Warriache exhibition tour financed by the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
