The Sotz'il Jay Cultural Center and Sotz'il group born in 2001 in the community of The Plank, Sololá, which belongs to kaqchikel ethnolinguistic group.
The group started about 30 young people with the anxiety of performing arts and cultural activities from the Mayan worldview. At first it was like a game, but then became a center for research and study.
