Xunka' Utz'utz' Ni' (DOB unknown, Mexico, Tzoltzil Maya)

Xunka’ Utz' utz' Ni’ is a filmmaker and mother of nine children. She lives near San Andrés Larrainza where she grows bamboo to form the structures for the exploding “castles” and “bulls” that are et off in celebrations. Utz'utz’ Ni' mixes gunpowder, braids fuses, and, with th leftovers, weaves baskets. Her husband is an illegal immigrant who works in a slaughterhouse in Tennessee.
